Key
West Beaches
![]() One of the ultimate pleasures of being in Key West Florida is to relax and enjoy it's famed beaches. With all that shoreline around you, it's hard not to make your way onto the sparkling sand of a Key West beach. Except during inclement weather, there's never a bad time of the day to drop by a Key West beach. Walking along the shore during a mild morning hour, lazing in a beach chair during a warm sunny afternoon, gazing out at a serene sunset or taking a romantic midnight stroll are all popular round-the-clock Key West beach activities. For your safety, Florida has implemented a Beach Warning Flag System that is in use throughout the Sunshine State. The colored flag displayed on the lifeguard stand lets you know the current surf condition at that particular beach. Please pay close attention to the color of this flag, as it could possibly save your life and those around you. As far as locating a Key West Beach, that's not going to be a difficult task being that it's an island. There are however, different characteristics and amenities to each beach. We've put together a list of the main beaches on the island, and noted what each has to offer. This way, you can choose the best beaches for you. Is today going to be a beach day? How about tomorrow or the weekend? Find out what the weather will be like for the days ahead by viewing the Key West 7-Day Forecast on our Local News Page. Whether it's a sunny, partly sunny or somewhat cloudy day, don't forget to put on sunscreen with a SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin from the pleasant but damaging and intense rays of the Florida sun.
