Key
West Nightlife
![]() Key West Florida has a fantastic array of pulsating nightclubs, stylish lounges and friendly taprooms with all sorts theme nights and special events. Most offer live music for your enjoyment. The "touristy" places around town where good times can always be had, are of course Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, Hog's Breath Saloon and Sloppy Joe's. You can't go wrong by stopping into any of them. The 801 Bourbon Bar has nightly cabaret drag shows that must be seen if you've never experienced that kind of entertainment before. It is also home to Saloon 1, Key West's only gay leather bar. Drag Queen Bingo is another popular attraction at 801 Bourbon Bar. 98-feet away from 801
Bourbon Bar, just past Petronia Street on Duval Street, is the
Bourbon Street Pub, Garden
Bar, and New Orleans House, the only all male guest house on Duval.
All three make up the widely popular Bourbon Street Pub complex.
Aqua Nightclub has a modern light and
sound system
within its hip club-like surroundings that is worth checking out.
It's also a where you can mingle with the many scantily-clad
women and the modish men who frequent the place. Also worth stopping
into is Captain Tony's Saloon, a notable Key West watering hole once
frequented by Ernest Hemmingway himself according to locals. Those same
locals
also play music there on a nightly basis for your entertainment.
The
Bull & Whistle Bar and Garden of Eden nightspots are all located
within the same building on the corner of Duval and Caroline Streets.
On the ground floor there is the Bull, comprised of a bar and
live music most nights. The second floor is the Whistle, with a
elongated wrap-around balcony, pool table and bar. One more
flight up takes you to the rooftop, where you have the Garden of Eden,
a "clothing optional" bar for those daring enough to baring it all. Speaking of being in the buff, Bare
Assets is a gentlemen's club with all-nude dancers open 7 days a week.
Private champagne rooms, lap dance areas and VIP suites are just part
of the arousing amenities on
premises. At 1114 Duval
Street, you'll come across a New
York-styled piano bar with an open mic nightly called The Keys.
You'll hear all different
genres of live music inside
courtesy of their packed calendar of performers. If you need some fresh
air, you can simply head outside to their relaxing
Off-Key Bar for a refreshing cocktail in their
garden area. Another
fine place to unwind to some sultry music selections is at Virgilio's,
also on Duval Street. Virgilio's is a chic martini bar
establishment that presents outstanding live
jazz in the back of their restaurant on the weekends.
